Il mese di marzo 2005 in Thailandia è stato sinonimo di paura. Nel giro di tre settimane è uscito prima questo Necromancer, seguito la settimana successiva dall'attesissimo secondo capitolo della saga Rathree Returns e a fine mese dal terzo capitolo di un'altra serie, The Eye 10. Tre film importanti e di successo che hanno fatto ben sperare nel futuro del genere, fin troppo spesso sommerso da prodotti horror di bassa lega, pallide copie o plagi esemplari di altri prodotti più noti e ben fatti.
Oltretutto Necromancer si distacca totalmente dall'horror in generale e dal new horror in particolare, assumendo una forma particolare e ibrida, una fusione di generi e emozioni molto diverse tra loro e il risultato è alla fine abbastanza inedito.
Un poliziotto di provincia, scontento della sua vita e decisamente scettico nei confronti della spiritualità , si trova coinvolto in una storiaccia brutta di poliziotti orientali corrotti che si assomigliano tutti e praticano la magia nera.
